VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation that provides care for children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and are deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Villages International is currently working in 138 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972. Applications are invited for the following position:

Position: Tele-Caller

Location of Job: Fund Development & Communications, National Office, Dhaka.

Nature of Job: Contractual (possible extension based on the performance)

Area of Responsibilities:

  • Donor acquisitions and donor service
  • Contacting new and prospective donors over telephone calls.
  • Resolving queries and issues related to donations.
  • Maintaining records of all phone calls on regular basis.
  • Digital Campaign management.
  • Identify and contact potential donors and build strong relationships.
  • Database management on regular basis.
  • Achieve fundraising targets.

Educational Requirements & Experience:

  • Only female candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Graduate in any discipline from a government recognized university.
  • At least have CGPA of 3 in all examinations. 
  • Experienced candidates with good vocals will get preference.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is a must.

Additional Requirements:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • High interpersonal skills and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
  • Strong interest in the needs and development of children and youth.
  • Good time management abilities.
  • Must follow the safeguarding including other organizational policies.
  • Age up to 25 years

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

Position: Incident Coordinator

Job Location: National Office, Dhaka

Nature of Job: Contractual [Possibility of renewal of contract based on performance and availability of budget]

Area of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to support the National Child safeguarding Focal person for strengthening the reporting and responding systems and processes in SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh.
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts to ensure that children who are directly and indirectly cared for and supported through SOS Children’s Villages Programmes are safe and protected.
  • Maintains accurate records and child safeguarding cases.
  • Maintains the data collation and documentation plan, and produces monthly progress report.
  • Supports to National Child Safeguarding Focal Person to deal with child safeguarding issues and other incidents abuse incidents.
  • Follows up the progress of all investigations and providing supporting plans for victims/survivors (if any).

Required Qualification and Skill:

  • Masters in Psychology/Child Development and Family Relation/ Social Work/Social Welfare/Social Science, not less than 2nd Division/Class in any Public Examination.
  • Minimum one/two-year of work experience in Child Safeguarding and Incident Management.
  • Candidates should have a good command of English languages (both written and speaking).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package, email, and the internet is a must
  • Experience of working with children and young people will be an added advantage. 
  • Candidates are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

Additional Requirements:

  • Having knowledge of Child Rights & Protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) will be an added advantage;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Age limit: Below 40 years.

Position: Social Worker (Residential)

Location of Job: Rajshahi

Nature of Job: Full time

Area of Responsibilities:

  • Actively support Children, SOS Mothers and Aunts by holding regular group or individual coaching/ counselling/ development sessions
  • Preparing annual development plan of every individual child by discussing with the child and mother, recording it, follow-up, reviewing once in a year.
  • To innovate ideas and learning environment on different aspects according to needs and considering situation of changing of everyday lives.
  • Plan and implement a suitable program to ensure good quality child and youth development and to meet the needs of all children, utilizing clear and concise routines, rules and limits.
  • Contact and maintain liaison on regular basis with schools/other educational institutions. Regularly update and promptly submit children/youths’ school records and monthly highlights of activities to the Director.
  • Encourage children to enrol into employable education & find out suitable technical courses and support child development activities to promote life skills & develop leadership qualities and healthy recreations for the children.
  • Maintain close communication with the village director on the development and progress of each child.
  • Writing reports (international standard) on the development of the children & youths, different programme activities, events, case study and success stories as per the requirement of the organisation.
  • Strong support to management & children to establish child rights.
  • Adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy & Code of Conduct and Sexual Misconduct Regulation (PSHEA) of the organization.

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Masters in Social Work/Social Welfare/Social Science, Psychology/Child Development and Family Relation, not less than 2nd Division/Class in any Public Examination.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Social Worker especially in child-related organization.

  • Have knowledge of child rights & protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong command in English report writing and presentation.
  • High interpersonal skills and coordination skills.
  • Strong interest in the needs and development of the children.
  • Willing to work at and to stay in within SOS children’s village premises.
  • Willingness to make a long-term commitment.
  • Age 30-35 years

 

Salary & Benefits: Consolidated BDT 22,000/- and Single accommodation within the premises.  

After probation period of 06 (Six) months, upon confirmation, incumbent will be entitled to receive regular Salary Scale along with Festival Bonus, Contributory Provident Fund and Gratuity, Children’s Education Allowance, Group Insurance (Death & Accidental) as per existing policy of the organization.
